Enrollment opens each year in January. The maximum class size is 22 children. Enrollment periods are as follows:
- January 9 through January 23: families with a child currently enrolled at Stone School.
- January 23 until the Open House on February 4th: currently and previously enrolled families.
- Open enrollment starts at the Open House in February.
Enrollment is first-come, first-enrolled.

MEMBERSHIP PACKET AND DEPOSIT: Once your application has been processed, you will receive a mailed membership packet which includes health information forms, emergency contact information forms, and school job signup sheets.
In order for your child to start class at Stone School, you must also complete a State of Michigan Central Registry Clearance form. The form and instructions are available at: http://www.michigan.gov/dhs/0,4562,7-124-5529_49572_49584---,00.html. Michigan's Central Registry is mandated by the Child Protection Law.
A $100 Membership Responsibility Deposit (MRD) per family is due before your child starts school. MRD refunds will
be issued at the end of the school year to all families who have met their responsibilities. Families may
choose to make their MRD into a tax-deductible donation to the school. Parents will be responsible for the purchase/sale of $50 worth of tickets for the Stone School spring raffle fundraiser.
ORIENTATION: After you complete and return your membership packet you will receive information regarding Orientation. Parents must attend an Orientation to become acquainted with the functions of the school and their responsibilities as members of a cooperative. Orientations are held in late August or early September.
At Orientation, each family will sign up for one school job, one Seasonal Work Day, and one Weekend Clean Up. All members are also required to read the Member Handbook, which contains additional details.
Before the beginning of the school year, each child, accompanied by his or her parent(s), will meet individually with his or her teacher at school to ease the child’s adjustment to the new surroundings.
There will be a two-week probationary period for all school members.
