Fundraising events are an important way to contribute to the school’s operating budget and to help keep tuition low.
Because Stone School is in the unique position of owning its own historical building, fundraising is a necessity and a part of your parental responsibility. There are many ways to do this, not only through the purchase of items sold at fundraising activities, but also by volunteering your time at these events.
Parents are encouraged to explore and suggest other ways to help raise funds to benefit the school and students. If you have any suggestions, please contact one of our Co-Presidents or a member of our Board.
Recent fundraising events have included trips to Jungle Java in Ann Arbor and the California Pizza Kitchen at Briarwood Mall as well as participation in the "Big House, Big Heart" run each October in Ann Arbor. The Ann Arbor-based toy store “Learning Express” recently donated 20% of all purchases during a four-day run to SSCN.
The spring raffle is one of our most important fundraising events of the year. Fundraising responsibilities for each family include the sale of $60 in raffle tickets in the spring (or purchasing the tickets outright). Tickets are $1 each. This is the only mandatory fundraising event and it generates significant returns for the school. We encourage all members to participate by selling tickets and requesting or providing donations.
The raffle drawing takes place at the April all-school general meeting.

Would you like to earn money for Stone School simply by searching the web, shopping online, or eating out at your favorite restaurants? GoodSearch now makes all of this possible. Each time you search the web using its built-in search engine (powered by Yahoo!), or purchase items from participating online retailers (through GoodShop), or even dine at participating restaurants (through GoodDining), Stone School will receive a portion of the transaction.

Through the Scrips Program, families can purchase negotiable gift certificates (usually in the form of gift cards) that are used like cash. Scrips are used by many major retailers, such as: Amazon.com, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Borders, CVS, iTunes, JC Penney, Jo-Ann Fabrics, K-Mart, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Old Navy, Sears, Toys-R-Us, and Wal-Mart as well as many restaurants, such as Applebee’s, Arby’s, Chili’s, Chipotle, Little Caesar’s, Old Country Buffet, Olga’s, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and Subway, among many others. Our school receives the difference between the face value (which you pay for and receive) and the discount price offered to the school by the retailer. The Scrips Program is offered to Stone School parents twice a year (fall and spring). Information will sent home in your child’s school bag prior to each sale.
There are several grocery stores that also support non-profit organizations’ fundraising efforts:
KROGER: By signing up for Kroger’s Community Rewards program and registering your card to SSCN, the school can receive 5% of your total purchases each time you shop at Kroger and swipe your Kroger card at checkout. Register online at www.krogercommunityrewards.com. In order for SSCN to receive credit, please be sure to enter NPO number 82746.
MEIJER: Meijer Community Rewards can be earned by enrolled members who shop at Meijer and pay with cash, a PIN-based debit card or a linked Meijer credit card. Our school’s organization code is 763012. Sign up at www.Meijer.com/rewards.
HILLERS: You may obtain a free Scrip card from Stone School’s Scrips Coordinator which has been linked to Stone School for fundraising. Load the card at any Hillers store with any amount and start shopping right away. Hillers will send 5% of your purchases to the school at no extra cost to you.
